Sunday Nights

To me there has always been a magical thing about improvisation. It’s something that I’ve grown to love and it hasn’t always come easy. Over the years (specifically through college) I learned to dive into the experimentation of discovery, leading to the organic individuality it brings out of me as an individual. Truly it has taught me so much about myself. I know that I am the most innate version of me in these moments, and there are few moments outside of this that I am as open as I become.

Although it is always interesting to explore and self-discover through this process; there is nothing that compares to experiencing this with another mover, and really letting them in. Moving with another individual teaches you how to trust and be aware of their physical body. Just like with any relationship, no single being is the same, therefore each experience will be different from the last. It also changes the way that you move and interact.

If you think about it, dancing teaches you a lot about life and the lessons we learn daily. The list goes on and on, and this is why I take it so seriously. It just makes sense to me. It’s my way of communicating and expressing, just as I am able to better transfer my thoughts through my writing.  All in all, I wish that everyone could experience what we do! That is why I invite you all to TRY IT. There is no wrong or right way, you just have to be open to it. Accept the possibilities and see what happens. Move and let go. I can’t say it would be scary, but I do promise you it will be worth it.

If you’d like to join us on Sunday nights in North Hollywood (at the ‘Sanctuary’) then please contact me! Enjoy 🙂
