In case you didn’t know, I’m in Germany! Crazy right? I arrived here on Thursday (I think). Yes I believe so, because the following day was Friday and my first day of rehearsals for the show. Now I bet you want to know what show it is…. Well I’ll tell you soon; I promise. Meanwhile, there’s a lot of hard work happening and cramming choreography into my brain. Although being in another Country and working as a dancer, is nothing shy of amazing. I mean honestly… What more could I want in life??
Here are a few photos I’ve taken while strolling around. There’s not a whole lot of time for this, other than from the first night I had here. Once I’m more familiar with the show, I’m sure I’ll be able to see the sites a bit more. By the way, I’ve been in one-on-one rehearsals for the majority of my days. That’s why I haven’t ventured out a whole lot just yet. Anyhow, here are a few spots nearby by hotel.
Otherwise, here are some interesting findings I’ve had:
The language barrier is harder than I thought. I mean these words are just so long! I’m trying to pronounce a few, but when it comes to ordering food it can be difficult. Basically I keep getting the same thing, and hoping someone will understand me.
There’s two toilets in every bathroom, well sort of. One is to clean yourself lol.
If you want to order water, it’s either ‘with gas’ aka sparkling or it comes in a bottle as still water. Nothing from the tap whatsoever!
Everyone appears to be very classy. I think I’ve seen more men in suits than ever before in my life. Everything is set out so nicely and in perfect order (okay maybe I haven’t ventured out as far as I could).
I need to learn more German. Oh and there seems to be somewhat of an Asian culture as well.
Also, there’s no beef jerky anywhere. There’s certain things I’ve been wanting to find and well some of this food just looks weird to me.
Anyway, I had a pretty neat coincidence happen the night I arrived. I got word Lindsey Stirling was in town playing a show here. Now I know this talented lady from back home in Utah, where we worked on a couple of projects together. Well I am just so proud of her and her success! Luckily I was able to see the show, and connect with a few others as well. Before arriving to Frankfurt, I had no idea they would be here. In fact most of us all come from North Hollywood, and somehow ended up in the same city in Germany at the same time. Thank heavens for familiar faces! I haven’t seen anyone I know out here yet, other than these lovely people. It definitely made my night and the performance was rather special. I really loved hanging with them backstage and getting to know everyone involved in the production of the shows! Three cheers for dance, music and live performance!!! It’s what we live for eh 🙂
Definitely should have gotten a photo with the crew. Next time!
Ps I am already leaving this city come tomorrow! I cannot believe it’s already time to travel to the next location. Zurich here we come 🙂 Train travels coming soon.
