The fancy ways of Vienna, Austria

Well I must say Vienna has been one of the most extravagant cities I’ve ever seen. It is so incredibly historic that you can’t help but stand there in amazement. After a long bus ride, we all couldn’t wait to get to the hotel knowing that we were staying at the lovely Ritz Carlton. Oh what a lush kind of stay this turned out to be, as you may very well imagine. As I walked into my room, I felt as I was in some kind of presidential suite or palace. Everything was so well put together and the service was incredible: from the fitness room, to the spa, to the entryway and décor. Although Zurich’s stay was a lot more modern and keen, the Ritz may have been my favorite thus far.

When it came to the city, each building has been there since at least the 1800’s with a story of how it has been affected by enemies, weather or more modern times. Luckily my ‘tour guide’ was a fellow dancer and native of Austria. He was able to show us around, sharing stories of memories and ancient times. For example, the former emperor once built a statue of his late wife, in the midst of two enormous twin buildings, which I believe housed the Opera. This still stands today. There are palaces, cathedrals, theatres and opera houses all around. Each building maintains it’s original structure, even though there are many modern day shops and features inside. Even the café’s have designs and characteristics you can only find dating back before our time. In fact many of the buildings have deteriorated, since no one had figured out how to stop the outside walls from melting off of its surface. As we roamed around we grabbed warm scrumptious drinks, peeking into each building and admiring the military tents set up outside of a particular fortress. Oh and might I add we bumped into Helene Fischer on a few different magazines and newspapers! The shoes and street art were also a big hit for me. Soon enough we gained a bit of Austrian historical knowledge, learning that Mozart had thrived there while discussing who had taken over who at what point, and how that affected the structure of the city.

Once it was time for the show, I now had a bit more to rehearse and be a part of. In order to not be too overwhelmed for my first performance, I’ve slowly been added in to more and more. At this point I’m in just about everything, minus a couple of elements. By next week I should be caught up entirely. It’s crazy how it’s only been just over a week. It seems as if it has been much longer, although I don’t see myself ever really wanting to leave.

Oh yes and one of my favorite moments from our time here, of course have to do with Helene. She is such an admirable being. Before the show she always takes time with us and thanks us for our presence. Then one night after the show, she invited us to her favorite sausage stand in Vienna. Although this sounded odd, it was quite the experience. It reminded me of our famous taco stands in L.A. or perhaps Pink hot dogs. Here we spent time together, amongst good people and the incredible atmosphere surrounding us, and some seriously good traditional Austrian food.

Therefore, so far on this tour:

Frankfurt was cool and comfortable.

Zurich was quite darling with all of its character

Now Vienna, Austria has been nothing but lavish.

Truly I cannot wait to see what is in store for us next. Back to Germany we go!

Oh and I must say Vienna so far has had the very BEST audience.

Ta ta

Talk to you soon.

Back to admiring the incredible scenery on our bus ride to… you will have to wait and see 😉
