July 4th happened to be one of my last day’s in LA. For those of you who don’t know: I’m moving! I will soon be relocating from one coast to the next. Before I reflect on the last two years, I thought I’d share the lovely bit of time I had with family and friends celebrating the Country’s holiday.

Quite obviously, we had to visit Disneyland one las time before I had to say my goodbyes. In fact I made sure to soak up as much time in the magic as I could manage. One night I even ran through the park with a favorite friend of mine, only an hour before closing. I always love moments like these. They should never be taken for granted.

Over the course of our ‘vacation days,’ we also made sure to continue our journey of what my Mom likes to call being a semi-professional foodie. This basically means we like food. Oh yes and the very best aliment from the highest recommended of places.

As we were staying in Newport, we ventured down to Balboa Island for breakfast at Wilma’s Patio; a cozy little cafe that offers the best taste in home cooking. Might I add, it is also rather historic. Following, we walked around the island admiring the patriotic adornment.

In the evening, my Mom (the expert) took us to 3-Thirty-3 to dine. The view from the skylight patio, was nothing short of magnificent. We ate and relaxed, whilst admiring in the bay full of sail boats and jets soaring high above. Each of us tried some sort of delectable fresh caught fish. It was delightful.

One of our favorite parts of the trip was wading in the waves! Actually getting knocked over by nobleness was is a bit more accurate. I never thought I’d see anything knock my burly little brother over. In fact the little one even started to roll up the bank of the sand. It was the most hilarious thing I’ve ever seen; until my reaction to the temperature of the water became even funnier. Now that is what life is about (well said by my Dad).

PS – San Diego for the fourth is also a really great idea – just saying

Newport Bay hosts one of the most spectacular firework shows in Southern California. Our hotel room happened to have the perfect view of this. Instead of worrying about the stress of parking and crowds, we walked right outside our door and set up camp. Oh yes and there was an outdoor concert right next door. I definitely had no complaints, along with the piña coladas provided by our hotel!

Unfortunately our fun came to an end. It was time to move. Lucky for me I had some really hefty and FUN people helping me out. That way it didn’t really ever seem like work. One thing I do know, is that I will always find the right people wherever I go. I’m always happy to have the constant support and laughs along the way.
