When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of “me, too!” be sure to cherish them. Because those weirdos are your tribe.

It is always important to have a support system no matter where you go. I’ve been lucky enough to find this wherever I may be! But gosh NY is just different. It’s a whole different beast. So you have to hang on tighter, and having amazing friends starts to really keep things together!!
I know life gets busy. I get it. In the midst of it all, when people find time to get together and really invest in it; you start to realize how good people really can be.
I’ve had the craziest last two weeks. Twelve hour days and not a minute to rest. I have had school on top of two shows where I performed, presented work and even managed the house, calling all of the shots! To my surprise I had friends show up to all three nights of our MFA show at Tisch. That is unbelievable. In LA it was like pulling teeth to try and get one person out to a performance. I’m not kidding. My amazing roommates, old college friends and new NY buddies all came out to support. I almost lost it, it was so overwhelmingly wonderful.
Thankfully I have girls here who are just as girly and into outings as I am! Woof. Girls who brunch, watch Bachelor and explore together – definitely stay together. It’s like all of my SATC dreams of living in the city are actually coming true! Don’t get me wrong I love me some outdoors, but man do I LOVE being a girl. He he. Check out our new favorite brunch spot below (thanks to Brian Shaw). San Marzano is in East Village & they have the BEST deal for Sunday’s 🙂
In this crazy world and especially in the arts, it is so important to have a tight-knit group. I’ll always be grateful for that. It’s what makes being away from loved ones bearable. Not to mention this industry is cut throat and vent sessions become a necessity.
Thank heavens for great friends!!
Yes, this photo was from when we went wedding dress shopping for the first time!! What an experience. More to come.
Feel free to share your bff stories below 🙂 I’d love to hear.
